Production Log

Image
My production log is quite brief but it notifies me on what has been completed or what i need to finish and additionally when i started the area to where i finished it.

Evidence of Export

Image
Once i was happy with the outcome of my film opening i started the process of exporting it to QuickTime, and this meant that the production of my movie opening had concluded.

Raw Footage Log Sheets

Image
This is my initial log sheet for  each of the clips that i recorded for my raw footage and i went through all of it and decided on which clips were more successful than others for reference in the future, as it helped me select which clips to use without watching repeatedly.

Films Drafts/Edits

Image
Below is a list of the many drafts of my movie with different versions and autosaves from the start of filming to it's conclusion. This helped as i had easy access as all my drafts were organized in my video drive.

Evidence of Editing (sound effects)

Image
The majority of the sound effects are in my title shot because i didn't want my screen to have no audible sounds as the silence would make it boring, so i included a loud gun shot at the end of it, so it matches the shattered glass on screen.

Evidence of Editing (Constructing Title)

Image
I made title screen fit my law themed film opening by adding sound effects to the mix such as police sirens and guns shots and the emphasis the violence that would follow this screen a placed a fractured glass case with a bullet hole in it. The overall design works more effectively than a plain title screen with an average shot as it looks more professional and links to my film genres.

Evidence of Editing (transition)

Image
For transitions, i included a fade effect on the ending of one of my custom made company intros, so when it concludes it slowly fades to a black screen. This positively impacts my project as it beats a standard cut transition.

Evidence of Editing (creating pace)

When i was editing my project i took into consideration pace and how it can build up the tension within my shots, so when my characters get more tensed and dramatic my shots contain more cuts and when it eases of the shots have a longer duration.

Evidence of Editing (continuity)

Image
Seen above is the entirety of my film opening in which it shows the length of my film opening and the differentiation of my shots and edits.

Evidence of Editing (filters)

Image
For my evidence of filters, I have a screenshot of my screen in which highlighted is my adjustment layer. This is a separate layer with a colour tint (Cyan), this supports my film by using the colour to match the mood of my film, the blue tint was inspired from the series "The Boys" being a representation for drama and the tension between the characters.

Evidence of Editing (sound)

Image
Sound was an essential part of my editing phase and it proved to be the most challenging in terms of making a particular fragment of sound more dominant than the others, or more specifically making the soundtrack have lower audio than the dialogue of my characters.

Evidence of SFX

Image
I didn't use much SFX compared to my obtain footage, but i incorporated a sourced glitch effect at the start and finale of my film opening to give it an appearance of police obtained footage, additionally linking t the theme of my project.

Skills/Tutorials Accessed-Knowledge Applied

Image
For some of my trickier edits that i couldn't myself figure out, i turned too YouTube tutorials to guide me to obtain better editing qualities: this also helped significantly in the final export of my film in it's final stages.

Evidence of Importing Footage

Image
I started to import my raw footage into premier pro so i would have access to all my footage easily, as alot of my shots were back and forth this made this process simpler.

Evidence of Organizing Footage

Image
Throughout my filming process i attempted to be as organized as possible, so i constructed a few folders to store different features of my filming, so for this file it contained all my raw, unedited footage: this was for easy access and to have it all in one place.

Evidence of sourcing Royalty Free Music/Sounds

Image
I sourced royalty free music and sounds from different online websites that matched the setting of my production and i imported them from a sound effects film in my video drive to premier pro. Essentially this helped to fill scene's that didn't include much dialogue or seemed blank.

Evidence of Directing

Image
Directing was an important role in this movie production as it is the process for how a director's vision is formed into reality through good communication between them and the actors. Before filming began i gave my cast and short run-through of how i envisioned to scenes to appear on camera.

Evidence of using Camera Equipment

The camera equipment was an essential factor during filming days that i had to get right, as it would impact the quality of my film. I determined the correct level of focus onto my cast members faces, as i wanted to prevent any blurs in my shots because i had to make my work professional and up to industry standards.

Evidence of Using Lighting Techniques

Image
I introduced my custom lighting to the set as i was happy with natural lighting that was emitting through the windows, therefore i closed the blinds and set a light source on my camera. So, for  filming the light level was optimal and ideal.

Evidence of Using Clapper Board

Image
The clapper board was used to identify to scene's beginning and conclusion and it helped the cast members know when to start acting, it also helps in the editing process to organize the different clips,

Evidence of Recording Sound

Image
This is evidence of me operating the microphone before filming to achieve high-quality sound so the cast's dialogue is audible preventing complications in the editing process.
